In April 2011, the so-called Investor Protection and Functionality Improvement Act (Anlegerschutz- und Funktionsverbesserungsgesetz – AnsFuG) has been passed.

Hereby, the German legislative body transcribed various amendments of the Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz – WpHG) in order to improve the quality of financial services, in particular investment advisory due to the complaints and damages becoming public in the course of the financial crisis in 2008.
